In line with the Core Values and Mission of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, the “Turkic World School of Thought” educational project, initiated with the support of our Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, was successfully completed. The project was organized by the Continuing Education Center (KTMÜSEM) of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University and supported by TÜRKSAM, the Turkic World Student Club, the International Relations Club, and the Ahmet Yesevi University Turkic World Youth Club.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erkan Efilti, head of the Continuing Education Center, the program took place between April 3 and May 13, 2025, with classes held twice a week, 2 hours per session, totaling 20 hours over 5 weeks. The training attracted 135 participants from 4 countries (Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan) and 20 different universities. Lectures were delivered by 10 academic experts from 9 different universities in 4 countries.
These academics integrated their fields of expertise with the shared values of the Turkic world youth. The courses aimed to remind young people of their common historical roots, broaden their vision for the future, strengthen the spirit of unity, and foster a sense of collective action when needed.
Erdem Yılmaz, a researcher from TÜRKSAM and the project's ideator, stated: “Our project, which we hope to continue annually, was implemented by SEM and TÜRKSAM and crowned with an international education certificate. With the participation of student communities, significant steps were taken toward unity in the Turkic world. I promise that even more communities will be reached in the coming years.”
According to participant feedback, the courses were highly effective; they learned many new things and were able to evaluate known topics from a shared perspective.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, and to all individuals and units involved for making this opportunity possible.
