In 2025, Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) increased by 5.4% compared to the previous year, reaching 7 billion 263.8 million US dollars.
This was reported by the Vesti.az news agency. According to the report of the State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan’s exports to OTS member countries amounted to 3 billion 572.3 million dollars, while imports reached 3 billion 691.5 million dollars.
During this period, trade with OTS countries accounted for 14.7% of Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover. According to the data, in 2025 Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with Kazakhstan increased by 42.6%, reaching 670.6 million dollars, while trade with Uzbekistan grew 3.2 times to 795.2 million dollars. Trade with Kyrgyzstan increased by 93%, amounting to 77.2 million dollars.
In 2025, Azerbaijan exported 597.3 million dollars’ worth of non-oil products to Turkey, 94.6 million dollars to Kazakhstan, and 75 million dollars to Uzbekistan.
It should be recalled that the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was established on 1 November 2012 on the basis of the Nakhchivan Agreement, which was signed at the summit held in Nakhchivan on 3 October 2009. Initially, the organization was called the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States, and in 2021 its name was changed to the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
Azerbaijan is one of the four founding members of the organization. Currently, the organization has five member states: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey. Hungary, Turkmenistan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus have observer status. The headquarters of the organization is located in Istanbul.
