The “Türkiye–Azerbaijan Trade Delegation and B2B Meetings” are being held in Baku under the coordination of Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade, organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) in cooperation with the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of Azerbaijan (KOBİA). The opening ceremony was attended by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Baku Birol Akgün, TİM President Mustafa Gültepe, KOBİA Chairman Orkhan Mammadov, and AZPROMO Executive Director’s Advisor Shebnem Allahverdiyeva.
Ambassador Akgün emphasized that both countries are making intensive efforts to create a favorable environment of trust and long-term cooperation, highlighting the goal of increasing bilateral trade to 15 billion dollars in the medium term. He noted that the Zangezur Corridor would strengthen the Middle Corridor and that, in addition to energy, transport, and construction, there is significant potential in digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and fintech.
TİM President Gültepe stated that bilateral trade currently stands at about 7 billion dollars but has much greater potential. He noted that more than 11,300 Turkish companies exported to Azerbaijan last year, mainly in chemicals, defense and aerospace, and electrical and electronics sectors. He also stressed that the opening of the Zangezur Corridor would provide direct land access to the Turkic world and turn Azerbaijan into a major logistics hub.
KOBİA Chairman Mammadov and AZPROMO representative Allahverdiyeva underlined that the meetings would enhance SMEs’ export capacity, foster new business partnerships, and create investment opportunities.
As part of the event, 35 Turkish companies from 15 different sectors are holding one-on-one meetings with Azerbaijani business representatives. The program aims to strengthen trade cooperation and increase the volume of bilateral trade.
