Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov, held talks in Baku with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov. The meeting was dedicated to further expanding agricultural cooperation and deepening practical interaction between the two countries.

During the talks, the parties noted the steady development of bilateral relations and discussed expanding cooperation in various areas of the agricultural sector. Particular attention was paid to the introduction of scientific and innovative approaches in agriculture.

Special attention was also given to the international agricultural exhibition being held in Baku, which has brought together more than 400 companies from 45 countries. The parties noted that the scale of the event demonstrates the growing role of global platforms in developing cooperation in the agricultural sector.

Priority areas of cooperation were identified as the development of scientific ties, the digitalization of agriculture, the introduction of agricultural insurance, and the expansion of experience exchange between sectoral scientific institutions.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between Uzbekistan’s “Agricultural Insurance Fund” and Azerbaijan’s “Agrarian Insurance Fund.” The document is aimed at developing the agricultural insurance system, introducing advanced practices, exchanging knowledge and experience, and enhancing the resilience of the agricultural sectors of both countries.
