According to the information released by the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan as of August 31, 2023, Azerbaijan's natural gas imports from Turkmenistan increased 2.5 times in January-June this year compared to the corresponding period last year.
According to information provided by the committee, the price of importing natural gas from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan has reached approximately $110 million. In addition, over the six months of this year, Azerbaijan imported more than 1.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Turkmenistan for a total of $252 million.
Previously, Azerbaijan supplied Turkmen gas to the country through Iran using the gas exchange method.
