AZENCO OJSC from Azerbaijan will modernize three 110 kV substations in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Energy Ministry reports. JSC “National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan” jointly with the World Bank is implementing an investment project “Transformation of the electric power industry and sustainable transmission of electricity”.
The project is aimed at development of main power grids and substations, introduction of digital technologies in the industry, as well as integration of renewable energy sources into the unified energy network.
Within the framework of the project it is planned to modernize and reconstruct 22 substations 110-500 kV. throughout the country. In particular, international tenders were held for modernization and reconstruction of 110 kV substations. “2 A”, ‘Hazorasp’ and ‘Chinoz’ located in Fergana, Khorezm and Tashkent regions.
AZENCO OJSC from Azerbaijan was recognized as the winner of the tender. On July 19, 2024, an agreement was signed with the winning company on the implementation of projects.
Full modernization and reconstruction of these three substations will provide additional capacity of about 100 MVA (megavolt-ampere), which will significantly improve the reliability of power supply for residents and industrial consumers of Fergana, Khorezm and Tashkent regions.
