The inaugural ceremony of the Azerbaijan Innovation Center (AIC) took place today in Baku on October 2. The center was established by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency under the Digital Development and Transport Ministry of Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijan Innovation Center will serve as a hub for technology entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Samir Mammadov, announced plans for a second, larger Innovation Center in Baku.
According to him, at the AIC, startups will have the opportunity to participate in incubation and acceleration programs, meet with investors, form partnerships and present their projects.
“For local and foreign companies looking to operate in Azerbaijan, the Center offers favorable lease terms and other advantages. This makes the center attractive not only to local startups but also to international companies, providing an opportunity to consider Azerbaijan as a new market. Innovation should not be confined to Baku alone,” the deputy minister added.
