Azerbaijan's trade turnover with member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in January-November 2024 amounted to $6.3 billion.
First Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Elnur Aliyev stated this fact at the General Assembly of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkic States in Baku, Report reports.
According to Aliyev, $3.7 billion of the total amount is export of Azerbaijani products. Aliyev said that OTS countries have potential for increasing trade and economic ties and it is necessary to strengthen work in this direction.
In this regard, he noted the importance of the Middle Corridor, stressing that joint projects and reforms on trade facilitation contribute to its digitalization. In his opinion, this has a positive impact on cargo transportation and trade dynamics in the region.
Aliyev also added that energy and transport cooperation of the OTS countries has an impact not only on the region, but also on global processes: “Joint energy projects have changed the regional energy map”.
