On June 11, a meeting was held in the city of Tashkent between the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, and the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of relations in various fields between the two countries.

It was emphasized that continued close intergovernmental cooperation is essential to fulfilling the tasks set by the presidents of both nations.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. It was noted with satisfaction that bilateral relations have consistently and comprehensively developed over this period. Thanks to joint efforts by the presidents, a historic agreement on allied relations was signed in 2024.
It was also noted that the President of Uzbekistan is expected to pay another official visit to Baku in the near future.

The progress in economic and trade relations was highly praised. In 2024, bilateral trade volume increased by 41%. In the first quarter of this year, trade turnover nearly tripled compared to the same period of the previous year.

It was announced that the 14th meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission will be held in June in Azerbaijan. The “Roadmap” for expanding economic, trade, and investment cooperation for 2024–2025 is also being successfully implemented.

More than 10 promising projects are currently being considered within the framework of the “Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan” Investment Fund, covering areas such as education, construction materials, textile industry, logistics, light industry, and food production.
It was noted with satisfaction that mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of green energy has been established, and the countries are working together with Kazakhstan to create a route for delivering “green energy” to Europe.

Opportunities for cooperation in the transport and transit sectors were also discussed. Transit shipments between the two countries increased by more than 18% in 2024. The Uzbek side was invited to make active use of the “Middle Corridor” route.

The importance of strengthening interregional ties was highlighted, and the signing of sister city agreements between 10 cities of the two countries was positively evaluated.
Prospects for cooperation in various mutually beneficial sectors were also discussed during the meeting.
