A political decision has been made to establish a trade representation of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan. This was announced by Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, at the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Interregional Forum held in Baku.
Mikayil Jabbarov stated: “I would like to announce the decision to establish a Trade Representation of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan. This step will serve as a key tool to promote our exports, expand investment cooperation, establish direct connections between entrepreneurs of both countries, and implement joint regional projects.”
He also noted that the Agreement on Allied Relations signed by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in August of last year plays a crucial role in defining bilateral long-term relations and regional policies.
Jabbarov added: “The year 2024 has been marked by important events in the development of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan partnership. In May, the 2nd Interregional Forum was held in the city of Guba, during which sister city agreements were signed between Fuzuli and Gulistan, Bilasuvar and Termez, and Mingachevir and Namangan. I especially want to highlight that most of the joint projects are being implemented in the regions of our countries. This interregional cooperation is not only a support mechanism for national priorities, but also a self-sustaining mechanism for stable and mutually beneficial development.”
