The Informal Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Istanbul on March 7, 2026. The meeting was chaired by Türkiye’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan as the host. The meeting was attended by Jeyhun Bayramov, Jeenbek Kulubaev, Bakhtiyor Saidov, and Alibek Bakayev. Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev and his delegation were also present.

Prior to the informal meeting, delegations held a number of bilateral meetings to discuss issues of mutual interest and to enhance coordination within the framework of the organization. The meeting began with the opening remarks by Hakan Fidan. Afterwards, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov, whose country currently holds the OTS Chairmanship, addressed the participants. The ministers emphasized the importance of maintaining close coordination among member states and advancing the organization’s priorities.

Issues on the OTS agenda were also discussed during the meeting. The ministers exchanged views on strengthening political dialogue, enhancing institutional cooperation, and advancing joint initiatives aimed at deepening integration in the Turkic world.

Within this framework, the “Regulation on Cooperation with External Parties within the OTS+ Format” aimed at promoting dialogue and cooperation at the regional and international levels was signed. At the end of the meeting, the ministers adopted a joint statement on the recent developments in the Middle East.

Following the meeting, the participants continued their discussions during an iftar dinner hosted by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan. The informal meeting reaffirmed the strengthening spirit of solidarity, dialogue, and cooperation among the Turkic states and contributed to enhancing coordination on regional and international developments.
