The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanychbek Omuraliev, spoke on April 19 at the panel session titled “A Century of Language and Identity: From the Baku Turkological Congress of 1926 to Turkic Integration” within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

According to the OTS, Omuraliev emphasized the importance of linguistic cooperation and cultural ties for the development of interaction in the Turkic world. The Secretary General highlighted the evolution of institutional cooperation among Turkic countries, recalling the first Summit of Turkic States held in Ankara in 1992, which marked the beginning of dialogue at the highest political level. He further pointed to the milestone achieved at the 2009 Nakhchivan Summit, where the Turkic Council was established, later transformed into the Organization of Turkic States in 2021.

The Secretary General noted that the ideas put forward at the Baku Turkological Congress continue to be implemented through the deepening of cooperation, strengthening of unity, and expansion of integration among Turkic states. He also informed the participants about the current activities of the OTS and its cooperation with other Turkic institutions.
