On May 29, during the “KIT-2025” forum, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Mirvohid Azimov, delivered a speech. According to him, the countries of the Turkic world are in a unique position and can play a key role in the global digital transformation.
Mirvohid Azimov stated: “In an era when digital transformation is redefining the global landscape, our countries must not only be participants but also become leaders of the technological revolution.”
Azimov placed special emphasis on artificial intelligence. He noted that AI is rapidly entering sectors such as governance, healthcare, education, and the economy, paving the way for a new phase of regional development.
He also reminded that in 2025, Bishkek was officially recognized as the “Digital Hub of the Turkic World.” This status increases the forum's significance. With this title, Kyrgyzstan’s capital hosted an “Artificial Intelligence” forum last year that brought together more than 200 experts and policymakers.
Mirvohid Azimov also announced a series of new initiatives within the framework of cooperation among the OTS member countries:
- Merge Innovation Summit — To be held on September 29–30 in Baku with the support of “Pasha Holding.” The forum will gather venture investors from Turkic states and Central Asia to promote cross-border projects.
- AI Startup Cup 2025 — A major startup competition in the field of artificial intelligence, organized in cooperation with the Silk Road Innovation Hub in Silicon Valley. Regional finals will be held in OTS member countries, while the global final will take place in the United States.
Mirvohid Azimov emphasized: “These initiatives aim to develop the venture ecosystem, support promising IT startups, and strengthen partnerships based on trust.”
