According to data from Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 50 million foreign tourists visited the country between January and September 2025. This figure represents a 1.6% increase compared to the same period last year. Tourism revenues reached $50 billion, up by 5.7% compared to 2024.

According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) report for 2024, Turkey ranks fourth among the world’s most-visited countries. The announcement was made during a press conference held in Istanbul, Turkey’s tourism hub.

Turkey’s Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, stated that the first nine months of 2025 were challenging due to armed conflicts in the region and the effects of climate change. Nevertheless, thanks to the government’s strategic measures, tourism revenues grew by 5.7%, reaching $50 billion. The minister noted that for the first time in the country’s history, this figure was achieved during the third quarter of the year. By the end of the year, Turkey aims to generate $64 billion in tourism income.

Based on the results for the first nine months of 2025, the top three tourism markets for Turkey were:

• Russia – 5.53 million tourists

• Germany – 5.22 million tourists

• United Kingdom – 3.54 million tourists

Additionally, the number of tourists arriving from Kyrgyzstan increased by 5.3% compared to the same period last year, reaching 151,000.
