Coca-Cola İçecek (CCI) company signed an agreement to purchase 57.1% of the shares of Coca-Cola Bottlers Uzbekistan (CCBU). The related news was published on the official website centralasia.media on September 30. According to the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan received $ 252.2 million for the shares. The agreement on closing the transaction for the purchase of the Uzbek asset was signed on September 29 in Tashkent. Now the Turkish company owns 57.118% of Coca-Cola Bottlers Uzbekistan shares. The remaining shares in the Uzbek enterprise are indirectly owned by The Coca-Cola Company.
Coca-Cola İçecek CCI is an international beverage company operating in Turkey, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Jordan, Iraq, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. As one of the key suppliers of the Coca-Cola system, CCI produces, distributes and sells carbonated and non-carbonated beverages of The Coca-Cola Company.
Together with Uzbekistan, CCI employs about 10,000 people and has 29 factories in 11 countries offering a wide range of drinks to 430 million people. In addition to carbonated drinks, the product range includes juices, water, sports and energy drinks, as well as iced tea. Coca-Cola Bottlers Uzbekistan is the largest producer of carbonated soft drinks in Uzbekistan with production facilities in Tashkent, Namangan and Urgench, as well as a network of warehouses. By the end of 2020, the company's net profit amounted to 205 billion sums.
