The 14th meeting of the ministers responsible for economy and trade of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in the city of Turkistan, Kazakhstan.

According to the OTS press service, delegations from member countries participated in the meeting at the ministerial level. The discussions focused on enhancing economic cooperation in the Turkic world, deepening trade relations, and promoting sustainable development.

Speaking at the meeting, OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev noted that sustainable economic growth continues in the region. He emphasized that in 2025 the average economic growth of the Turkic states reached 6.86 percent, more than twice the global average. Despite these achievements, the Secretary General called for intensified efforts to increase mutual trade among member states.

Heads of delegations exchanged views on current regional and global economic trends and discussed practical measures to strengthen trade within the OTS framework, improve the business and investment climate, and develop transport and logistics connectivity. Participants also underscored the importance of reducing trade barriers, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, and facilitating cross-border trade. The delegations agreed to continue close cooperation to deepen economic integration within the OTS framework and ensure its effective implementation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Communiqué of the 14th Ministerial Meeting and a Memorandum of Understanding on partnership in the field of trade were signed. In addition, a comprehensive roadmap for cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, investment, and finance, as well as the concept of the OTS “Trade Nexus” forum, were approved as part of a package of strategic documents.
