At the initiative of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, work is underway to launch a new joint tourist route aimed at developing space and industrial tourism. The Kazakh side has proposed cooperation to representatives of Uzbekistan’s tourism sector and business community, placing particular emphasis on unlocking the tourism potential of Kazakhstan’s Kyzylorda region.
The main objective of the initiative is to develop projects that will introduce tourists to the Baikonur Cosmodrome located in the Kyzylorda region. The proposed route will allow visitors to observe the assembly and testing processes of the Soyuz carrier rocket, watch the transportation of the rocket and its installation at the launch complex, visit the cosmodrome’s museums and historical sites, and, on scheduled dates, witness a rocket launch firsthand.
It was noted that space rockets are launched from Baikonur several times a year, but participation in such events is only possible with prior registration. The Kazakh side also expressed readiness to work with Uzbek tour operators to create integrated tourism packages, develop space and industrial tourism направления, and expand tourist exchanges between the two countries.
As a practical step, a tourist event is being considered for the period from March 20 to April 26. Entrepreneurs and tour operators in the tourism sector are invited to submit initiatives and proposals for cooperation within the framework of the new route. The project is expected to provide an additional boost to tourism cooperation between the two countries.
