Kazakhstan and Türkiye continue to actively develop cooperation in the agro-industrial complex (AIC), implementing joint investment projects with a total value exceeding $1 billion.

The basis of Kazakhstan’s exports to the Turkish market consists of grain and legumes. According to the results of 2025, legume exports reached 395 thousand tons. Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Agriculture, Ermek Kenjekhanuly, noted that the country aims to further increase agricultural exports. This is related to the diversification of cultivated areas and the expansion of legume production.

There is also significant potential in the export of livestock products. Currently, efforts are underway to export Kazakh beef to the Turkish market. This is expected to significantly expand the share of domestic products in foreign markets.

Investment cooperation plays an important role in bilateral relations. In recent years, Kazakhstan and Türkiye have implemented around 10 projects with a total value of approximately $400 million. These projects include the production and processing of agricultural products, as well as confectionery manufacturing.

At present, the parties are working on five major investment projects with a total value of about $2 billion. Among them is a 500-hectare greenhouse complex of “Alarko Holding” located in Shymkent. The first phase of the project has been completed, and the second phase is currently underway.

Another important project is the construction of a deep grain processing plant in Astana by “Tiryaki Agro” with a capacity of 250 thousand tons per year. This project is aimed at developing the processing sector and increasing the added value of products.

In addition, “Iskefe Holding” is implementing a project in Almaty for deep processing of animal hides. It is planned to produce up to 7 thousand tons per year, including gelatin for the food industry. In addition to investment cooperation, Kazakhstan and Türkiye are also developing cooperation in agricultural science, education, and scientific-technical innovation. Joint activities are being carried out at the level of research institutes and agricultural universities.
