Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan were presented with a number of joint investment projects between the two countries, according to the Akorda press service.

In Kazakhstan’s Abay Region, the company “Miryıldız” plans to build a mining and ore-processing plant. In Almaty, “İskefe Holding” aims to launch gelatin production, while in the Turkistan Region, “Orzax Group” is establishing a modern facility for the production of biologically active supplements. In Aktobe, “S Sistem Lojistik,” together with “Kazpost,” is creating a logistics center in the area of the international airport. In Astana, “Tiryaki Holding” is constructing a plant for the deep processing of wheat and legumes.

The implementation of these projects is expected to attract more than $920 million in investment to Kazakhstan and create over 3,100 jobs. According to Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin, nearly 100 investment projects worth around $4 billion have already been implemented in various sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy with the participation of Turkish companies. Currently, work is continuing on another 50 joint projects with a total value of approximately $4 billion. This demonstrates the high level of investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Türkiye.

It should be noted that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit on May 13, 2026. On May 14, he held bilateral talks with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in a narrow format. This was followed by the sixth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, where the Kazakh president proposed increasing exports of Kazakh goods to Türkiye by $630 million and adopting a Roadmap for boosting mutual agricultural trade for 2026–2028.

On May 15, an informal summit of the leaders of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States will take place in Turkistan. The summit’s theme is titled “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development.”
