During the “Kazakhstan – Turkey” business forum held in Astana, the delegation of Kazakhstan’s Abai Region signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Turkish company “Miryildiz KZ Ltd.” The signing ceremony was attended by Abai Region Governor Berik Uali and the company’s shareholder Asli Yildiz.

According to the press service of the Abai Region administration: “The main purpose of the memorandum is to develop investment cooperation and construct a gold processing plant in the Abai Region for processing ore extracted from the ‘Zhanan’ deposit. Within the framework of the $482 million investment project, approximately 1,800 new jobs are expected to be created. The project is planned to be implemented by 2028. The parties agreed to provide mutual support, coordinate joint efforts, and create favorable conditions for the successful implementation of the project.” The regional administration will support the investment project and assist the investor in cooperation with government agencies.

It should be noted that in April 2026, a meeting of the Regional Coordination Council on attracting investments was held in the Abai Region. One of the initiatives presented at the meeting was the project of the Turkish company “Miryildiz KZ Ltd” to build a gold processing plant in the Abai Region.
