Türkiye and Kazakhstan have reached new agreements aimed at developing international road transport and transit operations between the two countries.
A meeting of the Kazakhstan–Türkiye Joint Commission on Road Transport was held in Antalya. According to the Press Service of Kazakhstan’s Committee for Road Transport and Transport Control, the meeting resulted in concrete decisions aimed at developing international road and transit transportation between the two countries.
The parties agreed not to impose quotas on electronic transport permits. This arrangement is expected to make transportation operations more flexible and enable a faster response to the needs of carriers.
The meeting also resulted in an agreement to allow Kazakh carriers to pick up cargo from Türkiye’s seaports and transport it to Kazakhstan.
In this regard, the parties agreed to mutually allocate 3,000 permits each year, starting from 2026, for the transportation of such transit cargo.
The importance of further developing bilateral and transit transportation was also emphasized during the meeting. It was noted that these transport operations would contribute to expanding trade and economic relations between the two countries and strengthening transport and logistics connectivity.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their satisfaction with the agreements reached and reaffirmed their commitment to further developing cooperation in the field of international road transportation.
