In 2025, Kazakhstan exported $1.142 billion worth of IT services, increasing its exports in this sector by nearly 34 times compared with five years earlier. Digital solutions developed in Kazakhstan are used in more than 110 countries worldwide. According to data from the country’s Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, these figures reflect the rapid growth of Kazakhstan’s digital sector.

Kazakhstan’s IT services exports amounted to $33.5 million in 2020 and reached $690.7 million in 2024. By the end of 2025, they exceeded the $1 billion mark for the first time. At the same time, Kazakhstan became a net exporter of IT services. Revenue from exports was 2.6 times higher than spending on imports of foreign digital solutions. The volume of imports amounted to $429 million.

Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also highlighted the growth of digital exports at the AI & Digital Bridge 2026 International Technology Forum held in Astana. Tokayev said that further growth would require supporting technology startups and implementing projects aimed at addressing the real needs of the economy.

He also proposed developing a list of specific tasks for the use of artificial intelligence in the industrial sector and organizing an international AI Challenge competition based on these priorities. Teams from Kazakhstan and other countries will be able to participate in the competition. Solutions that demonstrate their effectiveness are planned to be integrated directly into production processes.
