Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu met with the President of the Turkic Investment Fund Baghdad Amreyev, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
“During the meeting, the head of the Fund presented the results of work for 2024, noting the successful launch of the operational activities of the Organization. Special attention was paid to the plans for 2025, which include the expansion of the portfolio of projects, development of infrastructure and economic ties, as well as support small and medium-sized businesses in Turkic countries,” the ministry said.
Murat Nurtleu stressed the importance of the Fund as a key instrument to promote sustainable development and economic cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States. The Turkic Investment Fund is the first joint financial institution of economic integration of the countries of the Turkic world. Its initial capital is 500 million dollars. The main goal of the fund is to develop economic and commercial relations between Turkic countries.
To remind, the heads of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan agreed on the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund on 11 November 2022 at the summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Samarkand. The agreement on the establishment of the fund was signed within the framework of the extraordinary summit of the OTS in Ankara on March 16, 2023. The first inaugural meeting of the Board of Governors of the member countries of the Turkic Investment Fund was held in Istanbul on May 21, 2024.
