Hungarian company Soil Solution is considering opening a plant in Kazakhstan to produce a drug that allows saving water, Kapital.kz business information center reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“The first stage of testing of Hungarian preparation for water saving has been completed in Kazakhstan. On the initiative of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, 4 research institutes took part in the trials. These are “Kazakh Research Institute of Water Management” in Taraz, “Kazakh Research Institute of Rice Farming named after I. Zhakhaev” in Kyzylorda, “Agricultural Experimental Station of Cotton and Melon Growing” and “Institute of Agrarian Innovations”. During the tests, the effect of the preparation on soil moistening in different groups and climatic conditions was studied, as well as increasing yields under conditions of irrigation with small volumes of water,” the Ministry of Irrigation reports.

According to scientists, the preparation allows saving up to 37% of water in rice fields. Since traditionally rice is irrigated for 90 days, but with the use of the drug to retain moisture is enough to irrigate for 51 days. The irrigation of sugar beet saved 23.9% of water, and corn - up to 28.7%. Also, experts note the growth of crop yields.

In turn, representatives of the Hungarian company Soil Solution said that they intend to open a plant for the production of the drug in Kazakhstan, if there is a strong demand from farmers.

“As of today, we are also considering the possibility of opening a plant to produce our products in Kazakhstan. This will allow us to reduce travel costs. That is, the drug will become several times cheaper for agrarians. It is also possible to export Kazakhstan-made products abroad,” Soil Solution representative Daniel Repassi said.
