A delegation led by Jaslan Madiev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, visited Uzbekistan on a working trip.
During the visit, the guests were introduced to the activities of the Executive Committee of Regional Communication Cooperation for Central Asian countries, which opened on May 22 in Tashkent. Following that, presentations were given on the reforms being carried out by Uzbekistan's Ministry of Digital Technologies, the main areas of work, and future plans.
The Kazakh delegation also got acquainted with the work of the “Ustudy IT” Academy, specializing in training qualified IT personnel, and centers working on innovative projects ensuring cybersecurity. Special attention was paid to projects in artificial intelligence and advanced digital solutions.
The main part of the visit was the official meeting between the Kazakh delegation and Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, they discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, addressing current issues, and implementing new initiatives.
They considered opportunities to improve cross-border telecommunications services, promote the services of IT companies from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on the global market, increase the export of digital services, and expand effective interaction between technoparks of the two countries.
Additionally, specific proposals were made regarding the implementation of joint projects within incubation and acceleration programs. Directions of cooperation were outlined to create new opportunities for Kazakh startups, attract investments, and enter international platforms.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed on the active participation of the Kazakh delegation in the United Nations (UN) Forum on Public Services to be held in Samarkand, and the “ICT Week Uzbekistan” event scheduled for September 23–25, 2025, in Tashkent.
The parties confirmed their readiness to deepen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the fields of digital technologies, innovations, and telecommunications, emphasizing their aspiration to continue systematic and joint work in these areas.
