Turkish investors plan to launch the production of water-saving technologies in Kazakhstan. This refers to drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. The plant is planned to be built in the Kyzylorda region. Negotiations with the Turkish side are currently underway, according to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Water Resources.
Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, met with Azmi Berk Altuntaş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Turkish companies Ardent Plastik and Nigde Plastik.
“Turkish businessmen intend to build a plant in the Kyzylorda region to produce water-saving technologies – drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. The minister and representatives of Turkish companies discussed the scale, timing, and procedures for the possible project’s implementation,” the statement said.
Nurzhigitov reminded that the state is currently increasing subsidies for the purchase and installation of drip and sprinkler systems. Subsidies for irrigation water for farmers using water-saving technologies have also been increased.
“Therefore, producing such systems in Kazakhstan will make them more affordable and help accelerate the transition to more economical and efficient irrigation,” the minister emphasized.
