Since the signing of the transit agreement, 3.4 million tons of Kazakh oil have been transported via the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan route, reports the business information center “Kapital.kz.”
In Astana, Chairman of the Management Board of the national company “KazMunayGas,” Askhat Khasenov, met with Rovshan Najaf, President of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR. The meeting discussed the current state and future plans of oil transportation along the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan corridor. It was noted that since the agreement was signed, 3.4 million tons of Kazakh oil have been transported.
The parties also exchanged views on the implementation of quadrilateral memoranda in the fields of digital technologies and industrial safety between “KazMunayGas,” “SOCAR,” “Tatneft,” and “Uzbekneftegaz.” In particular, experts from these companies regularly share experience in introducing modern digital methods in production.
Askhat Khasenov stated: “KazMunayGas is focused on developing the transit potential of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, as well as increasing the export of Kazakh oil to international markets, while strengthening strategic cooperation with SOCAR. Within the framework of the signed agreements, we continue joint work on digitalization and industrial safety. We are also interested in expanding cooperation with our Azerbaijani partners in geological exploration, the implementation of joint investment projects, and improving the condition of the Caspian Sea,” he emphasized. It should be recalled that in 2024, the national company “KazMunayGas” and SOCAR signed an agreement to gradually increase oil transit through the territory of Azerbaijan.
