Between January and August 2025, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan reached $3 billion, increasing by 18.5% compared to the same period last year. This was announced during a meeting between Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Aidar Abyldabekov and Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Khurram Teshabayev, according to “Kapital.kz” news service.

During the eight-month period, Kazakhstan’s exports totaled $2.2 billion — up by 26.7% — while the trade surplus reached $1.4 billion. A positive trend was noted in the expansion of exports of high value-added Kazakh products in the metallurgy, petrochemical, machinery, and agro-industrial sectors. A list of 40 types of goods worth more than $550 million was proposed for export to Uzbekistan.

The two countries are paying special attention to the joint implementation of investment projects. Currently, 34 projects worth a total of $4.4 billion and seven trade agreements valued at $2.6 billion are being developed. In addition, active work is underway to update the Roadmap, launch new production facilities, and eliminate administrative barriers. Kazakhstan proposes to prioritize the implementation of the most prepared projects.

To strengthen trade and economic cooperation, work is underway to establish the “Central Asia” Industrial Cooperation International Center in Kazakhstan’s Maktaaral district. The center will be part of the TURAN economic zone.
