The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan participated in the official launch ceremony of a number of joint projects, as reported by the business information center “Kapital.kz.” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the inauguration via video conference format.

Seven projects with a total estimated value of $1.2 billion have been launched. These initiatives span the sectors of industry, construction, petrochemicals, finance, logistics, and tourism.

The projects include:

  • The “Central Asia” International Industrial Cooperation Center located in the Syrdarya and Turkistan regions,
  • The headquarters of “Tenge Bank” in Tashkent city,
  • Commencement of construction of a multi-purpose logistics center in the Tashkent region,
  • Development of the “Astana” residential complex in New Tashkent,
  • A petrochemical complex producing alkylbenzene in the Kashkadarya region,
  • The “Astana” Hotel located in New Tashkent,
  • The “Tashkent” Hotel in the capital city of Kazakhstan, along with several other facilities.

It is worth noting that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev previously paid a state visit to Uzbekistan. On November 15, he held talks with the Uzbek leader. Both presidents also took part in the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. During the meeting, President Tokayev emphasized the potential of bilateral cooperation in the processing of rare precious metals.
