The volume of Kazakh investments in Turkmenistan’s economy has exceeded 120 million dollars. This was announced by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during expanded-format talks with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in Astana on Tuesday.
According to Tokayev, nearly 140 companies with Turkmen capital successfully operating in Kazakhstan are making an important contribution to the development of economic ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed the priority areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade and economic relations, cultural and humanitarian exchange, as well as interaction in the fields of transport and logistics. Special attention was given to joint projects in energy, industrial cooperation, agriculture, IT, education, and healthcare.
The President of Kazakhstan noted the active and substantive contacts taking place at all levels between the two countries. Cooperation is being carried out at the intergovernmental and interdepartmental levels, as well as within multilateral frameworks.
According to Tokayev, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are united by shared views and similar approaches to addressing regional and international issues. He emphasized that over the past five years, mutual trade between the two countries has increased more than fourfold, exceeding half a billion dollars. In the first nine months of 2025, bilateral trade between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan reached 363.6 million dollars, which is 5.4% higher compared to the same period last year.
