On January 14, 2026, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Meder Abakirov discussed plans for attracting investment and organizing state visits with Turkey’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The main focus of the talks was trade and economic cooperation. The Turkish diplomat noted that business circles in his country are interested in implementing various projects in the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The parties agreed to work jointly on creating favorable conditions to attract the capital of Turkish companies into the Kyrgyz economy.
In addition to economic issues, the participants of the meeting also discussed political and cultural-humanitarian cooperation. The diplomats reviewed the schedule and organization of mutual visits at high and top levels planned for this year. The organization of such bilateral events is aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
