Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev, during a working visit to the Issyk-Kul region on February 20, reviewed the progress of major renewable green energy projects. This was reported by the Cabinet’s press service.

During the visit, the head of government inspected the solar power plant project being constructed by “Bishkek Solar” in the village of Toru-Aigyr in the Issyk-Kul district. According to company representatives, the plant will have high capacity, and 80% of construction work has already been completed. Although the project was initially planned to be completed in 36 months, the timeline has been reduced to 24 months due to the high pace of work.

The plant will have a capacity of 100 MW and is expected to produce 600 million kWh of electricity annually. Investments in the project are projected to reach $280 million by February 2027. The facility is planned to be commissioned in stages from August 2026 to August 2027. Additionally, Adylbek Kasymaliev also inspected the construction of the “Issyk-Kul-1” solar power plant in the village of Kyzyl-Oruk, being implemented by the Vietnamese company “Rox Energy Global.”

Construction of this major project began in September 2025. With a total capacity of 1,900 MW, the plant is attracting $1.4 billion in investment. It is expected to produce 3.6 billion kWh of environmentally friendly electricity annually. The project will be implemented in three phases: Phase 1 — 150 MW, Phase 2 — 450 MW, Phase 3 — 1,300 MW. Full completion of the “Issyk-Kul-1” solar power plant is scheduled for 2028. At the end of the visit, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers highly praised the activity of investors and the pace of project implementation.
