President Sadyr Japarov visited Batken Region on May 6 and reviewed the concept of the “Dostuk” International Trade and Economic Park, which is planned to be built at the junction of the borders of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The information was reported by the presidential press service.
According to the statement, the project will continue the regional cooperation initiative launched in 2025 with the installation of the “Dostuk” monument stele.
The president was presented with the master plan of the complex, which will cover a total area of 100 hectares. According to the document, special zones will be allocated in the border area for administrative, industrial, logistics, and commercial purposes. The project also includes tourism infrastructure designed to host international exhibitions and ethno-festivals promoting the heritage of the Great Silk Road. The development of such facilities aims to attract foreign investment and expand trade and logistics connections in the region.
Officials expect that the launch of the “Dostuk” park will create more than 5,000 jobs and increase the volume of cross-border trade. The head of state emphasized the importance of joint economic initiatives in ensuring the stability and prosperity of the three countries.
According to Sadyr Japarov, with mutual support from all sides, the project will become not only a business platform but also a symbol of trust and unity among the peoples of Central Asia. Implementing this large-scale plan will require close cooperation among the relevant institutions of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
