On the initiative of the Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan, on September 13, a protocol was signed on the establishment of sister city relations between Cholpon-Ata city of Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye’s Antalya.
The diplomatic mission reported that this event marked a new stage in strengthening bilateral relations and developing mutually beneficial cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye.
As part of the official ceremony, Mayor of Cholpon-Ata Daniyar Satarov expressed deep gratitude to Mayor of Antalya, Mukhittin Bocek, for the hospitality and emphasized the importance of this protocol, which contributes to strengthening the traditionally friendly ties between our peoples. The cooperation between the cities will open up new prospects for interaction in various fields, including investment in tourism and infrastructure projects, the report said.
Particular attention in the framework of future cooperation will be paid to the exchange of experience in the field of development of urban infrastructure and the coastal zone of Issyk-Kul Lake, construction technologies, as well as environmentally friendly solutions for environmental protection.
In addition, the Kyrgyz side proposed at the meeting the idea of implementing a promising project to create a Kyrgyz-Turkish educational center in the city of Cholpon-Ata, which will facilitate the training of qualified specialists in the field of tourism and the intensification of cooperation in the educational sphere.
According to the Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Antalya Rustam Koshonov, the signing of this protocol creates favorable conditions for attracting investments, implementing joint initiatives, which will be an important step in strengthening partnerships between the cities and regions of the two countries, similar in their development strategy.
