Kyrgyzstan has earned more than $1 billion from gold sales since the beginning of 2024, according to the National Statistics Committee. In January-October, Kyrgyzstan exported 13.8 tons of gold worth $1 billion.
This is 7% more by weight and 32% more by value of gold than in the same period of 2023, when 12.9 tons worth $805 million were exported. The leader in buying Kyrgyz gold over the past 10 months is the United Kingdom, which accounts for 80% of all Kyrgyz gold exports. The UK purchased 11 tons of gold worth $870 million.
