President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov outlined the priorities of bilateral cooperation at the ceremony of presenting the letters of credence by newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan Saidikram Niyazhojaev. The meeting took place on December 17 in Bishkek, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The parties noted the positive dynamics in the development of trade and economic relations, including the growth of bilateral trade and the expansion of the product range.

An important step will be the establishment of the Supreme Interstate Council, the decision on which was made during Japarov’s state visit to Uzbekistan in July.

Ambassador Niyazhojaev emphasised that this visit gave a powerful impetus to bilateral ties. He highlighted the ambitious goal of increasing trade to $2 billion and assured of his readiness to work towards implementing joint energy, transport and tourism projects.
