President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov took part in the informal summit of the heads of state of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held in Budapest, Hungary.
The presidential press service said that the theme of the informal meeting, which was held for the first time in Hungary, an observer country of the Organization, was "Meeting Point of East and West". In his speech, the head of state emphasized that Hungary has become a real bridge between the European Union and the Turkic world.
"During such meetings, we lay a solid foundation for the sustainable development of our countries and the well-being of our peoples, relying on the spirit of unity and trust.
Our meeting today in Budapest is a logical continuation of the Bishkek summit held last November. Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship in the Organization, held under the motto "Strengthening the Turkic world: economic integration, sustainable development, digital future and security for all", is aimed at deepening cooperation between our countries," said Sadyr Zhaparov.
He announced plans to hold a number of significant events in the republic aimed at further strengthening multilateral cooperation and invited the heads of government of the OTS member states to a meeting of prime ministers and vice presidents planned for the fall at the initiative of Kyrgyzstan.
The head of state noted that the volume of mutual trade between Kyrgyzstan and the Organization countries has almost doubled over the past four years, and confirmed the country's readiness to actively participate in joint initiatives in the fields of economy, transport, energy and digitalization. Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence that the implementation of the Digital Partnership Agreement and the launch of project activities of the Turkic Investment Fund will significantly strengthen cooperation. As a positive example, he cited the successful work of similar financial institutions in Kyrgyzstan: the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani, Kyrgyz-Uzbek and Kyrgyz-Hungarian development funds.
In his speech, the President also noted the importance of implementing infrastructure projects.
Thus, he noted Kyrgyzstan's readiness to implement joint projects in the field of green energy and the formation of a creative agenda, emphasized the strategic importance of the construction of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1, which will open a new era in the region's energy sector, and also outlined the priority of developing transport corridors, especially highlighting the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project as a historic step that can significantly strengthen regional ties and shorten the route between China and Europe by 900 kilometers. Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that as a mountainous country, Kyrgyzstan supports the sustainable development of mountain regions and participates in the implementation of the UN Five-Year Mountain Development Plan (2023-2027).
In this context, he informed about the holding of the World Mountain Youth Festival in Issyk-Kul this year and the Second Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek + 25" in 2027, and also called on the OTS countries to join the implementation of the "Mountain Five-Year Plan".
At the same time, the head of state expressed gratitude to the participating countries for supporting the decision to extend the powers of the Secretary General of the OTS Kubanychbek Omuraliev, who will continue to effectively fulfill his duties, demonstrating high professionalism and dedication.
In conclusion, President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the importance of the adopted Budapest Declaration, reflecting the common desire of the OTS countries for stability and development. He expressed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to actively support efforts aimed at bringing the Turkic states closer together and prospering.
