Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan have agreed to revive joint investment projects and increase bilateral trade turnover to $3 billion by 2030. This was announced following a meeting between Kyrgyzstan’s First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Amangeldiev, and Kazakhstan’s Minister of National Economy, Serik Zhumangarin. The meeting took place on May 30 in Astana during the “Astana” International Forum.
The parties discussed the current state and future prospects of trade and economic cooperation, preparations for bilateral events, and the development of investment projects.
Daniyar Amangeldiev emphasized that the traditionally high-level relations between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are developing in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance. In turn, Serik Zhumangarin noted that intergovernmental cooperation between the two countries is progressing effectively and that the next meeting of the Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission will be held in Kazakhstan later this year.
During the talks, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to implement joint investment projects aimed at increasing bilateral trade to $3 billion by 2030.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their commitment to further expanding the economic cooperation potential and to timely implementation of all projects and plans on the agenda.
