The IV Turkic Business-Agroforum was held in the village of Bosteri, Issyk-Kul region, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The forum brought together government representatives, entrepreneurs and specialists from the agro-industrial sector of the Turkic-speaking countries on one platform.
At the official opening of the forum, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobayev, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Majnun Mamedov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Kahramon Yuldashev, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Merey Mukazhan and Secretary General of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adem Kul delivered welcoming speeches.
The forum included two main panel sessions:
The first panel session - "Production and Trade of Agricultural Products: From Barriers to Business" - was devoted to cooperation in agricultural production, export and innovative approaches. The topics of product processing, herbal tea production, cooperative relations and prospects for mutual trade within the Organization of Turkic States were discussed. During the forum, a cooperation agreement was signed between Kyrgyz Agroholding OJSC and Umveld.
The second panel session, “Development of Livestock Breeding and Preservation of Genetic Heritage,” included presentations by specialists in agricultural biotechnology, selection, and preservation of unique animal breeds. Of particular interest were data on the Ala-Too and Arashan sheep breeds, as well as Kyrgyz white yaks.
In addition, the participants discussed water management issues in the Turkic world and their importance for agriculture. The event facilitated the exchange of experience, strengthening business ties, and promoting agricultural cooperation in the Turkic space.
