On October 7, during his working visit to Azerbaijan, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov delivered a speech at the 12th Summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in the city of Gabala.

According to the Presidential Press Service, in his remarks, Sadyr Japarov reminded that a year ago Kyrgyzstan had assumed the honorable duty of chairing the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). Japarov stated: “This period has been an important and responsible time for our country. During the year, we made serious efforts to strengthen our unity, develop cooperation, and promote our common goals. In total, during Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship, more than 124 high-level events were successfully held.”

He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan had prepared a ‘Roadmap’ for cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, and finance, which will help to further deepen economic ties. He also noted that Kyrgyzstan had initiated an agreement on the mutual recognition of electronic digital signatures, which would enable the legal recognition of digital documents.

In the context of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, Japarov announced that the 6th World Nomad Games will be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2026. He also mentioned that during Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the opening ceremony of these Games will coincide with the SCO Summit. In this regard, he invited the heads of delegations to attend these events as honorary guests.

In his speech, Japarov expressed gratitude to all member states of the Organization of Turkic States for their support and trust during Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship.

He said: “Following the results of the Gabala Summit, Kyrgyzstan is officially concluding its chairmanship and handing over the baton to brotherly Azerbaijan. I am confident that during Azerbaijan’s chairmanship, the organization will continue its progressive development, strengthen its international standing, and implement important new initiatives for the prosperity of the Turkic peoples.”

At the end of his speech, Sadyr Japarov invited representatives of the Organization of Turkic States to participate as international observers in the parliamentary elections to be held in Kyrgyzstan on November 30 this year.
