Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bakyt Torobaev, held negotiations during his working visit to Azerbaijan on the supply of oil and petroleum products to Kyrgyzstan, as well as on expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
During his meeting with Anar Mammadov, Vice President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), the parties discussed opportunities for organizing the supply of petroleum products to Kyrgyzstan. They also addressed cooperation in improving energy efficiency, digitalizing production processes, and introducing environmental standards in oil refining. In addition, the Kyrgyz delegation visited the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, where they were briefed on modernization projects and initiatives aimed at deep oil processing.
As part of the visit, Bakyt Torobaev also met with Ruslan Talibov, Chairman of the Board of the “Baku Shipyard.” The shipyard presented opportunities for building ferries and other vessels to support routes along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor. The sides discussed prospects for operating a cargo transport line in the Caspian Sea using Kyrgyz ferries and ensuring stable export-import logistics. According to the parties, such cooperation will help diversify Kyrgyzstan’s transport routes, reduce delivery times, and strengthen the position of Kyrgyz businesses in foreign markets.
