Within the framework of an official visit by a delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan to Türkiye, significant agreements were reached in the agricultural sector. The delegation was headed by Shokhrukh Akramov, Head of a department under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan. During the visit, negotiations and business meetings were held with leading Turkish agro-industrial and investment companies.
Particular attention was given to a meeting with the management of Armada Brand Seed, a company specializing in the production of parental corn seeds as well as pistachio seeds. The Turkish company presented modern breeding technologies and advanced seed production methods. The Uzbek side provided detailed information on the favorable conditions created for foreign investors, including tax and customs incentives, land allocation, infrastructure support, and government assistance measures.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to implement the “Uzbekistan Hybrid Seed Center” project, with a total value of USD 30 million. The project aims to develop the modern seed industry, increase agricultural crop productivity, and produce import-substituting products. In addition, a business meeting was held in Ankara with executives of more than ten leading Turkish companies operating in the fields of agriculture, food industry, and trade.
Participants included the MÜSİAD business association, which has representations in 60 countries and more than 12,000 members; Doğanlar Tarım, specializing in agricultural technologies and seed production; and Promaks Grain, engaged in the processing, storage, and export of grain products. During the discussions, Turkish companies presented their interests in the Uzbek market and potential investment opportunities.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan provided information on ongoing reforms in the agricultural sector and the broad range of conditions created to attract investors. The parties expressed mutual interest in further developing cooperation.
