Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are actively working on the formation of an investment package worth $10 billion aimed at implementing joint projects between enterprises and business communities of the two countries. This was stated by Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Bakhram Ashrafkhanov, in an interview with the Report news agency.
According to the ambassador, alongside the development of the investment package, the two countries have set a goal to increase bilateral trade turnover to $1 billion. He noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is being developed within the framework of an approved roadmap and covers a wide range of areas.
This cooperation includes regular consultations between foreign policy institutions, preparations for meetings of the Supreme Intergovernmental Council, as well as sectoral events such as business forums, interregional meetings, consultations in the healthcare sector, and events involving the scientific community.
Ashrafkhanov emphasized that the Business Council will play a key role in strengthening economic ties by ensuring direct contacts between entrepreneurs of both countries and enabling the prompt resolution of emerging issues. The Council will operate on a permanent basis, with the participation of chambers of commerce and industry and various business associations.
According to the ambassador, the development of strong business ties and the implementation of joint investment projects will be an important step toward revitalizing the economies of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, while also allowing entrepreneurs on both sides to work more efficiently and effectively.
