On March 3, a regular meeting of the working group was held via videoconference with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan and members of the Turkish business community. The meeting focused on improving the investment climate and providing support to foreign investors.
The event was attended by Suavi Önal, Chief Trade Counselor at the Embassy of Türkiye in Tashkent, as well as leaders of major business associations such as DEİK, DTİK, UTİD, MÜSİAD and ASKON. The main topic of the meeting was the operation of a platform that enables direct communication between Uzbek government agencies and Turkish entrepreneurs. This mechanism is aimed at promptly reviewing business appeals and establishing direct dialogue with relevant institutions.
The parties exchanged views on expanding trade and economic cooperation, implementing high-tech projects, and introducing advanced management practices. They also discussed support measures for Turkish companies already operating in the Uzbek market and newly established enterprises. During the meeting, proposals were considered to improve conditions in the tax, customs, and banking and financial sectors, as well as to enhance the quality of services provided to investors.
According to the information provided, since the previous meeting held on January 19, representatives of relevant government agencies have conducted 25 meetings with the heads of 30 companies and associations. Within this framework, issues faced by nearly 20 Turkish enterprises have been resolved.
Representatives of the Turkish business community highly appreciated the reforms being implemented to improve the investment climate in Uzbekistan. At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their intention to further expand cooperation and increase the number of joint production projects.
