Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are actively developing industrial cooperation, according to Saidikram Niyazhodjaev, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan. According to the diplomat, the economies of the two countries largely complement each other. Therefore, one of the key areas of bilateral cooperation is the development of joint manufacturing projects.
The ambassador emphasized that both sides are paying special attention to expanding industrial cooperation. Each country has resources and competencies that can be beneficial to the other partner. Niyazhodjaev noted that certain production capabilities available in Uzbekistan could be offered to the Kyrgyz side, while Kyrgyzstan’s resources and potential are also of interest to the Uzbek economy.
As an example of such cooperation, the ambassador cited a joint automobile production project in Kyrgyzstan. According to him, about 3,000 vehicles were produced in the country last year. The diplomat said these vehicles are currently being used within Kyrgyzstan as finished products for domestic use.
Niyazhodjaev also noted that the project has attracted international attention. During the celebration of U.S. Independence Day last year, the U.S. Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan pointed out the Chevrolet vehicles produced in the country and said it was pleasant to see cars manufactured in Kyrgyzstan being used on its roads.
