On March 13, a roundtable meeting with representatives of the Turkish business community was held in Tashkent under the chairmanship of Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Representatives of more than 20 Turkish companies took part in the event.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues arising in the activities of Turkish investors operating in Uzbekistan and to develop practical measures for their prompt resolution. Executives and representatives of major Turkish companies such as Anadolu, Albayrak, Ziraat Bank, Cengiz, Çalık, Aksa, Eczacıbaşı Esan, OSTIM, and Nobel attended the meeting.

The Turkish side highly appreciated the strong attention given to investors by the President of Uzbekistan and the efforts aimed at promptly resolving emerging issues. During the meeting, several practical issues related to the activities of Turkish companies were discussed, including product labeling, accounts receivable issues, infrastructure provision, and the regulation of labor relations. Following the roundtable discussion, responsible parties were identified and relevant instructions were given to ensure the prompt resolution of the issues raised.

Trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye continues to develop actively. Over the past five years, bilateral trade turnover has increased from $2.5 billion in 2020 to $3 billion. At the same time, the number of joint ventures has grown from 613 to 2,149. During this period, the volume of Turkish investments increased 4.5 times, reaching $3.1 billion. Approximately 100 flights per week are currently operated between the two countries.

Today, Turkish investments are being implemented in sectors such as energy, geology, construction materials production, agriculture, and healthcare. The total value of projects implemented with the participation of Turkish capital is close to $10 billion.
