Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have signed a memorandum aimed at expanding cooperation in agricultural science, food security, and rural development.
This was reported on Tuesday by the Trend agency, citing the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.
The document was signed within the framework of the “Italy – Central Asia (C5) + Azerbaijan” international agribusiness forum by Oybek Omonov, Deputy Director of the National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture of Uzbekistan, and Rashad Huseynov, Director of the Agricultural Scientific Research Center of Azerbaijan.
The agreement provides for the exchange of scientific information and experience, the implementation of joint research projects, the organization of training programs with the participation of specialists, as well as the practical application of innovative solutions in the agricultural sector.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, such cooperation will contribute to the wider adoption of modern methods in agriculture and the faster practical implementation of scientific developments.
It should be noted that on March 23–24, an international business forum titled “Innovation, regenerative agriculture, export, and digitalization for sustainable agroecosystems” is being held in Tashkent with the participation of representatives from Italy, Central Asian countries, and Azerbaijan.
