President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Yermeк Kosherbayev, who arrived in the country on an official visit on March 31. During the meeting, the minister conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The parties discussed current issues related to further strengthening friendly relations and strategic partnership between the two countries. It was noted that contacts at the level of parliaments, governments, regions, and business structures are developing effectively, while the Joint Intergovernmental Commission is carrying out productive work. The steady growth of trade turnover between the two countries was highlighted, along with the expansion of cooperation in industry, energy, transport, ecology, and the use of water resources. Special attention was given to accelerating the implementation of economic projects, developing cooperation in the field of rare metals, and increasing tourist flows. In addition, the prospects for expanding humanitarian exchange programs, including initiatives in the fields of space and the creative economy, were considered. The importance of carefully preparing the agenda for upcoming bilateral and multilateral events was emphasized, and an exchange of views took place on international and regional policy issues. The meeting once again demonstrated the strategic direction of relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and confirmed the commitment of both countries to further strengthen cooperation across all key areas.
