Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, who is on a working visit to Azerbaijan, held talks with representatives of “AzerSun Holding,” Tahir Gozel and Savaş Özcan. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the agro-industrial sector and attracting investments.
The main focus was placed on practical outcomes of cooperation, the introduction of new technologies, and the implementation of joint projects for the industrial processing of agricultural products. Special attention was given to the development of the sugar industry. It was noted that annual sugar consumption in Uzbekistan amounts to approximately one million tons. In this regard, the Azerbaijani company presented proposals for creating modern production and logistics solutions.
The Minister of Agriculture supported the initiatives and emphasized that Uzbekistan is ready for open dialogue and for the implementation of investment projects in this area.
The parties also discussed cooperation in the deep processing of fruits and vegetables, the introduction of modern canning technologies, and the production of juices, jams, and other finished products. Particular attention was also paid to agricultural consulting and specialist training.
Representatives of “AzerSun Holding” stated that at the initial stage they are ready to develop cooperation not only through investments, but also through the exchange of experience and consulting support. As a result of the talks, the parties reached agreements on developing a business plan for the sugar industry, creating joint working groups, and preparing new investment projects.
