According to a report released by the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan, the country's foreign trade turnover reached US$32.8 billion during the first five months of 2026 (January–May). The structural reforms implemented in recent years are yielding tangible results, with Uzbekistan's strong integration into global trade clearly reflected in the latest figures.

Record Growth in Non-Gold Exports

During the first five months of the year, Uzbekistan's total exports amounted to US$12.6 billion, while imports reached US$20.1 billion. The most notable highlight of the report was the performance of exports excluding gold and mining products. Excluding gold, exports of domestically produced goods increased by a record 29.4%, reaching US$6.5 billion. This demonstrates the growing international recognition of Uzbekistan's domestic manufacturing sector and industrial capacity.

Active Trade with 185 Countries

During the reporting period, Uzbekistan conducted active trade with 185 countries, further strengthening its global economic ties. China and Russia accounted for the largest shares of the country's foreign trade. Kazakhstan ranked as Uzbekistan's third-largest trading partner with a 6.9% share, while Türkiye, with its strong historical ties to Uzbekistan, and neighboring Afghanistan also remained among the country's leading trade partners.
